Introduction to Robotics
This introductory option is designed particularly for younger students (10-12). We go over what a robot is, what the basic parts are, and learn about the fundamentals of electricity. Kids will then get to customize and build their very own bristlebot or light spider.
Marine Science and Underwater Robotics
Future ocean explorers and marine biologists design, build, and test their own underwater robot. This course focuses on the fundamentals of engineering design, the challenges of operating in an underwater environment, and the magic of underwater exploration.
3D Design/3D Printing
Curious about 3D printing? This class covers the basics of these machines, what they are used for, and what you can make. Kids will also learn the basics of 3D CAD through TinkerCAD and finish by printing one of their own designs — fidget spinner, keychain, ornament, etc. — and taking it home!
Programming/Arduino
Ready to bring your code to life? This course is geared towards older students (12-16) that may already have some robotics background or anyone who is excited to learn. We’ll cover the basics of programming these microcontrollers and what you can use them for by experimenting with robotic cars.
Electronics 101
We’ll go over everything the beginning inventor needs to know when it comes to batteries, circuits, and soldering. Student in this introductory course will build their own seasonally appropriate light-up sign or ornament to take home
Soft Circuits
This class blends art, electrical engineering, and some good ol’ fashioned sewing. Kids design and create their plush toys, then add lights, sounds, and sensors to bring their stuffed animals to life. We’ll go over basic circuits, wiring techniques, stitching, and soldering.
